  1. Qantas Airways Limited
Posted date: 09 February 2026

Job Description

  • Procurement Portfolio Manager opportunities
  • Procurement Division – Aircraft Equipment & Maintenance Services
  • Permanent role | Mascot campus

Our longevity is built on continually raising the standard.  Every operational challenge is an opportunity to improve performance, resilience, and value for our people and our customers.

Driven by sustainability, operational excellence, and commercial discipline, our procurement and supply chain teams support the diverse and safety-critical needs of the Qantas Group while unlocking maximum value from strategic supplier partnerships.

Group Procurement leads the end-to-end sourcing lifecycle, establishes strong commercial frameworks, and plays a pivotal role in governance, contract management, and supplier performance.  This includes leading complex RFPs, negotiating high-value agreements, developing robust contractual and risk structures, managing performance outcomes, and ensuring compliance and value realisation across engineering supply contracts.

The Role

As Portfolio Manager – Procurement (Aircraft Equipment & Maintenance Services), you will lead complex, high-value sourcing programmes requiring executive-level engagement across Engineering, Finance, and Operations.

You will manage a team of Category Managers and Specialists responsible for strategic supplier portfolios covering high-value, safety-critical aircraft equipment and maintenance services across the Qantas Group fleet.

Your leadership in contract management and supplier relationship management will ensure strong governance, risk mitigation, performance delivery, and continuous improvement across technically complex supply environments.  You will also contribute to long-term category strategy, supply chain resilience, and value creation initiatives aligned to fleet and engineering programmes.

Your ability to build influential executive relationships, combined with a strong understanding of operational and financial drivers, will ensure we consistently achieve exceptional commercial outcomes and strategic value from our supplier contracts.

What you will bring

  • Over 10 years’ experience in senior commercial roles within large multinational organisations
  • Bachelor’s degree essential; MBA or MCIPS highly regarded
  • Extensive experience managing complex supplier relationships and full contract lifecycles within technically complex or regulated environments (aviation engineering exposure advantageous)
  • Strong leadership capability — able to influence, negotiate, guide teams, and lead cross-functional sourcing initiatives in fast-paced, change-driven settings
  • Outstanding stakeholder management skills, including engagement at executive and C-suite level
  • Advanced negotiation capability, with the ability to influence both technical and business stakeholders
  • Strong financial acumen, including development and interpretation of financial models and commercial reports
  • Ability to quickly understand complex business environments and clearly articulate commercial strategy to senior leaders
  • Proven experience leading teams in complex commercial settings, particularly in supplier and contract management
  • Expertise in planning, budgeting, and resource management
