Job Description

  • Enjoy the challenge of working in a fast-paced, operational environment
  • Value collaboration and teamwork, contributing to a high‑performance culture where success is shared
  • Permanent Full-Time opportunity based at the Melbourne Airport

JETS Transport Express is the premium road transport provider to the aviation industry. When international air cargo touches down in Australia, we’re there to get it the rest of the way to its destination. Our interstate trucking services cover the domestic legs of international airfreight operations, driving between all the major cities from our hubs in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Coolangatta, Perth and Adelaide.

Today we operate as a wholly Qantas-owned but independently managed business. With unbeatable reliability, security and attention to detail, it’s no surprise we’re Australia’s road feeder of choice.

As an Operations Clerk you will be responsible for ensuring daily and weekly booking capacity is effectively managed while delivering high-quality customer service. Duties include handling phone calls and customer enquiries, responding to emails, and accurately creating connotes for airway bill bookings. The position also involves maintaining transport documentation, verifying system charges, and ensuring freight accuracy. Regular liaison with truck drivers on the docks is required when manifesting freight and coordinating truck movements.

You will be a highly organised individual, who thrives on working in an environment driven by deadlines. You will also enjoy working with a group of individuals and be motivated by the prospect of working within a team to achieve goals.  If you are customer-centric, enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and possess excellent time management skills, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

You'll have -

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience within the transport and logistics industry
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft applications, including Office, Excel and PowerPoint
  • The ability to thrive in a dynamic environment, with a proactive mindset and a commitment to continuous improvement
  • A confident and proactive approach, supported by strong time management and organisational skills
  • Proven ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and maintain exceptional attention to detail
  • The ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems and processes
  • Flexibility to work across a 7-day rotational shift roster
