The Technology Manager is a leader with a customer centric mindset, responsible for partnering with senior leaders and technology teams to drive strategy and deliver solutions across IT and the wider Qantas Group centric mindset, responsible for partnering with senior leaders and technology teams to drive strategy and deliver solutions across IT and the wider Qantas Group. 

The Technology Manager is accountable, through their squads, for delivering product strategies, features, enhancements, and continuous improvement initiatives, while fostering a culture of innovation and uplift across both direct and indirect team members. This role provides a single point of accountability across Plan, Build, and Run for designated mobility products and their underlying technology components. Focusing on leading the enterprise strategy, governance, and uplift of mobility capabilities across the organisation. This includes oversight of enterprise mobility, device administration, Mobile Application Management using Microsoft Intune and Omnissa Workspace ONE Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) and the broader mobile ecosystem governance. You will be responsible for ensuring these mobility platforms are effectively managed, secure, scalable, and aligned with business needs, while driving adoption and modernisation initiatives across the organisation. 

You’ll Have

  • Experience developing and delivering product strategy and roadmaps in collaboration with stakeholders, informed by business economics, revenue drivers, product performance, market insights, and the broader competitive, regulatory, and industry landscape.
  • Strong vendor management capability, including oversight of financial, contractual, and service obligations (e.g., Service Level Management).
  • Expertise in product planning, prioritisation of roadmaps, and sequencing delivery to meet strategic outcomes.
  • Ability to provide insights for economic decision‑making by facilitating estimation of features and capabilities.
  • Experience managing quality of service and operational stability, including IT risk and compliance management, service improvement initiatives, and contributing to service management strategies.
  • 5+ years’ experience in large enterprises and 3+ years in agile environments (or equivalent).
  • Solid background in operational service management.
  • Airline technology experience, ideally within Qantas.
  • Proven people leadership experience across varied team structures.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to solve or lead the solving of complex, large‑scale strategic problems.
  • Expert stakeholder management across business and technical domains.
  • Experience coaching Agile mindsets and ways of working.
  • Skilled in designing and facilitating fit‑for‑purpose workshops that deliver defined outcomes.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work cross‑functionally and align business unit processes to enterprise‑wide processes.
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills, combined with strong commercial and business acumen.
