As a Finance Business Partner for Qantas Freight, you will have a commercially focused role in helping to develop and deliver Qantas Freight’s strategy. With a particular focus on Qantas Freight’s flying business and fleet you will provide effective planning, analysis and finance support to the business. You will also be responsible for financial control as well as, general ledger and financial/management reporting requirements. With a commercial leadership focus this role will ensure the appropriate structures, initiatives and processes are in place to meet Qantas Freight targets.

You’ll be accountable for:

  • Partnering with the business and the Freight Leadership Team, providing key financial support
  • Financial modelling for key customers, suppliers and strategic projects
  • Full P&L responsibility across revenue and cost as well as management of Freight’s CAPEX pipeline
  • Development and management of the budget/forecast including reporting against actuals and identifying and tracking risks and opportunities
  • Long term strategic forecasting
  • Performance reporting, linking financial and non-financial key performance indicators and communicating results to key stakeholders to inform strategic priorities
  • Identifying and developing initiatives to enhance process efficiency, performance and value
  • Partnering with multiple internal stakeholders to ensure needs are understood and incorporated into finance planning

You’ll have:

  • A Graduate degree in a relevant discipline and professional accounting qualification (CPA/CA)
  • Demonstrated Business Partnering experience within a large corporate organisation, coupled with extensive financial knowledge.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to deliver clear financial analysis and advice to non-finance management teams
  • A focus on process improvement with the ability to adapt and commit to continuous improvement activities
  • Strong commercial acumen with an ability to manage customer expectations
  • The ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and management both verbally and in writing
  • A self-starter mindset and the ability to work under time pressure with limited supervision
  • Proven ability to manage and influence priorities across a broad stakeholder group
